We’re Finally Updating! Paint, Floors, etc.

I know it’s been a while, but things have been progressing. Between maintaining the yard, lots of 9-5 type work, a few after-work games of tennis (which we’re not particularly good at, but is fun to attempt… at least until someone else shows up who IS good.), small bits of freelance, grocery shopping, family visits, birthdays, father’s days, weeks-on-end of rain, weekend visits from friends (near and far), cleaning, and general malaise… some progress HAS been made on the house. Sorry for the lack of play-by-play, but I didn’t know if it would be more trouble than it’s worth to show pictures of us putting together small bits of Ikea furniture. In general terms, though, the downstairs is pretty much done! Kitchen aside…
Here are some pictures of our freshly refinished floor, and our freshly half-decorated living room and dining rooms. Oh, and our cats, Bea and Rza (whose diet is going pretty well!).

(I only post this twice because of the updates in cat positioning.)

Overall, we’re pretty happy with the way things are looking! We do want to make some improvements like getting smaller speakers for the turntable (instead of these monoliths), hang more artworks around, and I’m not too sure the arrangement of furniture is 100% yet.
The color of paint we chose for the living room is “Aloe Essence” and the dining room is “Soothing Aloe.” They’re pretty close in color, but just different enough to make the two rooms have a little contrast. We had to choose lighter colors because of the dark woodwork around the house.

Nice! we gotta visit soon. We’ve got lots of firewood for the pit.
There are companies that offer such services on house painting. If you are building a house, you must have the right idea as to how much you are going to be spending for the paint.
Wow, your floors look great! I just did mine too. I’m going for that warm log cabin sort of feel in my home. Yours looks great though.
